Business Process Reengineering Enhancements

The described Business Process Reengineering enhancements techniques provide predictive metrics, in addition to the analysis and design of organizational processes.  These methodologies enhance traditional reengineering techniques initiated in the 1990’s.

Business Process Reengineering Enhancements

Business Process reengineering (BPR) gives focus to the analysis and design of organizational processes and their workflows. An objective of Business Process reengineering is to aid organizations in rethinking how they do their work. The goal with this effort is become world class by improving customer satisfaction and reduce costs. BPR’s approach to accomplishing this objective is through ground-up redesign of their business processes.

Integrating Business Intelligence Techniques with Predictive Scorecards

Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) provides a roadmap for integrating Business Process Reengineering Enhancements with predictive scorecards. IEE address the common place business management system issues that are described in a 1-minute video:

The IEE system is shown in Figure 1, where step 2 describes an IEE value chain (See Figure 2), which provides linkage of process steps (rectangular boxes) to predictive scorecards (oblong boxes).  The rectangular boxes in Figure 2 can be drilled down to detailed processes that could be improved through Reengineering efforts.

A business’ current state is provided through the IEE value chain. This information can then be combined with business analytics in the analyze phase (Step 3 of Figure 1) to enhance the decision process in the creation of targeted strategies (step 5) and then the execution of improvement projects (step 7) that benefit the business as a whole.

This approach for Business Process Reengineering provides insight to where process improvement efforts should focus first so that the enterprise as a whole benefits.
